Ma\'ariv correspondent Eli Kamir reports today that ten Indian soldiers of the UN peacekeeping force between Lebanon and Israel received \"hundreds of thousands of dollars\" from the Hizbullah terrorist organization in exchange for their cooperation. Kamir told Arutz-7 today that the report is based on classified intelligence submitted to the Prime Minister showing that these \"money-for- cooperation\" deals were prevalent over the past few months: \"Some things are not even in dispute, namely, that Hizbullah men used UNIFIL uniforms and vehicles, but now we\'re talking about more active UNIFIL-Hizbullah cooperation. The reports clearly speak of something more than merely turning a blind eye, and very likely refer to active cooperation... Most of these soldiers have already returned to India, and Israeli agents have interrogated them there.\"
Kamir said that UN Secretary-General Kofi Anan wrote that the UN finds itself in a very awkward and embarrassing position, \"which is diplomatic language meaning that the UN knew many things, that the UN\'s neutrality is facing a great test, that it will now be even harder to convince Israel to accept a UN observer force in Yesha, and that he further knows that he\'s in big trouble with much of the world community... Prime Minister Sharon, in several internal discussions he had this week, pounded on the table and said the primary lesson we must learn from this is that we cannot let UN forces come to Yesha and move freely around amongst us.\"
