IDF forces operating in the northern Gaza region, from where a bombardment of Kassam rockets and mortar shells have besieged Jewish towns in Gaza and the Negev of late, have killed at least six terrorists this morning. Among the dead are members of a terrorist cell of five people that was hit by an IDF helicopter strike. The forces entered the areas from which the rockets have been fired, and cleared it of trees and houses used by the terrorists for that purpose.

The offensive includes tanks and combat helicopters, and its mission is defined as "preventing rocket attacks and maintaining the security of the communities in northern Gaza and western Negev."

Palestinian terror attacks over the past day include gunshots that damaged an IDF jeep in Nisanit, a mortar shell at an IDF base in northern Gaza, three grenades at soldiers in Rafiach, and gunfire towards a Border Guard station in Gilo; no one was hurt. Two terrorists were killed in an exchange of fire with soldiers in Beit Hanoun, northern Gaza, last night.
