Two Israeli-Arabs in the Galilee opened fire at four Border Guard policemen who drove by them last night at the Beit Rimon junction (5 kilometers north of Nazareth, 15 kilometers west of Tiberias and the Sea of Galilee). The Border Guardsmen were deployed there because of three recent firebomb attacks in the area, but this terrorist incident ended somewhat differently. The Israelis opened fire and killed one of the terrorists, aged 20, and wounded the second, aged 22, both from Galilee villages.

The terrorists' weapons were found next to them, but a court injunction is preventing the publication of the exact nature of the weapons. Border Guard chief Yaakov Borovsky praised his fighters' reaction in the face of this "planned terrorist ambush against the policemen."
