Residents of the Gush Dan (greater Tel Aviv) area were permitted this morning to drink water from the faucets. However, the water must be boiled, until further notice. A blanket ban on drinking tap water in the area was issued last night by water authorities, causing a run on bottled water, juices, and sodas in neighborhood stores. The contamination discovered in the water supply has been traced to the Israeli-Arab town of Taibe, but the investigation continues. Residents of Gush Etzion arrived in nine security vehicles in Tel Aviv\'s HaTikvah quarter today, each with a 1,000-liter container of fresh water on board, and began distributing the water to the residents. A banner on the jeeps read, “From Gush Etzion to Gush Dan with love.”
