Three to six Arabs - including a leading wanted Hamas terrorist carrying a bomb pack - were killed in the latest IDF counter-terrorism operation in Khan Yunis, Gaza, this morning. Most of the casualties were caused when IDF forces returned fire towards terrorists who shot at them. No Israelis were hurt in today's offensive, the latest in the ongoing Operation Continuing Story against terrorist infrastructures in Gaza. In Dehaishe, outside Bethlehem, Israeli forces razed the homes of two terrorists responsible for Jerusalem's Beit Yisrael neighborhood slaughter of March 2002. Eleven people were murdered in that attack, including an entire family of four.
A huge explosive of between 100 and 150 kilograms blew up under an Israeli Merkavah tank on Friday morning, yet it caused only relatively minor wounds. Three similar bombs in 2002 killed seven soldiers and destroyed at least two of the tanks. The attack, which wounded one soldier moderately and three others lightly, occurred near Netzarim. Jewish residents said this was at least the third miracle of the week: a mortar shell hit a school bus a few days before, hitting a window above a seat that "happened" to be empty - and then did not explode. Earlier last week, a home in Gush Katif sustained a direct missile hit, yet no one was hurt. Two other missiles landed in N'vei Dekalim yesterday; no one was hurt. 3,961 missiles have been fired at targets in Jewish Gaza since the Oslo War began.
