Business 2.0 magazine, a monthly magazine of the FORTUNE Group about business, technology and innovation, has named Petach Tikva-based Power Paper Ltd. as one of the "12 Hot Startups" for 2004.
Business 2.0 compiled the list of 12 companies to watch based on input from venture capitalists on startups that "will be on everyone's lips years from now." The companies selected for inclusion in the short list "built cool devices, nurtured creative business models, and latched on to massive trends still in their infancy. They've impressed the nation's smartest venture capitalists, inside and outside Silicon Valley, who either put money into them or told us they wished they had."
Power Paper Ltd., founded in 1997, is a leading provider of next-generation printable microelectronic devices. The company's award-winning technology, allowing printing batteries directly on to paper and other ultra-thin materials, is used in applications such as micro-electronic cosmetic and therapeutic patches, smart labels based on radio frequency identification (RFID), and empowered notebooks and toys.
"We are thrilled that Business 2.0 has selected Power Paper to its annual list of 12 leading startups," said Power Paper CEO Shalom Daskal. "We are especially pleased that the industry recognizes our success in forging a sustainable path with 400% consistent revenue growth on a year-to-year basis."
