The IDF Spokesman reported this week as follows: A total of 125 Israelis were killed by the Palestinians between September 29, 2000 and July 2, 2001 in 5,709 attacks (the count does not include rock and fire-bomb attacks).
Following a relatively quiet day yesterday, Palestinian violence against Israelis has intensified significantly since last night. Selected incidents: Arabs assaulted a Jewish shepherd in the South Hevron Hills area near Susia last night. The attackers fled when they saw soldiers approaching the area, close to where Ya\'ir Har-Sinai was found shot and stabbed to death this week... Israeli army vehicles were attacked near Bethlehem and south of Shechem today, and near Azoun/Karnei Shomron and south of Gush Etzion last night; no one was hurt... A mortar rocket was fired at Dugit, in Gaza, but landed in a nearby PA-controlled area... Dozens of grenades were thrown at Israeli soldiers in the Rafiach area since yesterday... Other soldiers, west of Ramallah, were attacked by terrorist gunfire late last night... A soldier sustained light injuries during Arab shooting near Psagot; at least two terrorist were injured by the IDF\'s return fire...
On the other hand, two Arabs also claimed to be injured by gunfire in a drive-by shooting attack near Rimonim, between Jericho and Ofrah.
