The police have recommended that Minister Salah Tarif, the first non-Jew to serve as an Israeli government minister - he is a Druze - be indicted on charges of serving as an accessory to bribery. Arutz-7\'s Kobi Finkler reports that Husni Baradan, an Arab from Baka el-Sharkiyeh, in north-western Shomron, gave Tarif several hundred thousand dollars in order that he give the money to the head of the Interior Ministry\'s Population Registry for the purpose of arranging citizenship for Baradan. Tarif, according to the police, should be tried on charges of facilitating a bribe and breach of trust, as well as the other two figures in the case.
