Yeshai Maimon, a survivor of Arafat\'s Maalot massacre in May 1974, is one of several survivors who plan to file suit against Arafat in Belgium\'s International Crimes Court. Yeshai was one of more than 100 children from Tsfat who were on a school trip in Israel\'s northern city of Maalot. A Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine cell first murdered a family of three, then made their way to the school building where the students were staying. They took the children hostage and wired the school with explosive charges. When Israeli soldiers attempted to rescue the students, the Arabs shot and killed 22 of the kids and injured another 56. Yeshai Maimon explained to Arutz-7 today that an absurd situation has arisen:

\"Our Prime Minister, Ariel Sharon, is being charged with responsibility for the Sabra and Shatila events, while the arch-murderer Arafat is not charged with any of the many murders for which he was directly responsible for over the years. This situation cannot be allowed to continue.\" Maimon admitted that his primary consideration is to help the families who lost their children in the Maalot attack, but \"the fact is that this is a golden public relations opportunity for the Prime Minister\'s Office to show the world who Arafat is. Most of the world never heard about Maalot or the other atrocities he committed, and this is a good chance for us to tell the world.\"

A Belgian newspaper reported today that the country\'s Justice Department was considering changing the law such that war-crime charges may not be brought against world leaders currently serving in office. This would mean that neither Sharon nor (presumably) Arafat could be indicted.

Popular support appears to be growing for the cause of revoking the Nobel Peace Prize won by Yasser Arafat. New Likud member Peninah Rosenblum, a former Miss Israel who just missed being elected to the Knesset last year while running on her own independent list, announced that she will begin her own campaign to this end, and at least two websites have sprouted up independently for this purpose: and .
