Agriculture Minister Yisrael Katz called this morning, during the weekly Cabinet meeting, for the expulsion of Yasser Arafat, whom he called the "leader of the terrorism." Arafat has been holed up in his Mukata headquarters in Ramallah for the past two years, but is in constant contact there with terrorist leaders from all over the Palestinian Authority.
Minister Katz added that Israel must also strike out against the leaders of Hamas. "These are decisions that the government has already made, but has not carried out," Katz said. He also joined the chorus of those calling for the completion of the anti-terrorism partition fence.
Other reactions: Shas Party leader Eli Yeshai: "Ariel Sharon should reconsider his disengagement plan, because the Palestinian Authority is misinterpreting him. The People of Israel are saturated with examples of the idiom, 'Haste is from the devil.'"
MK Sha'ul Yahalom (National Religious Party): "I call on you, Ariel Sharon, to retract this fantasy of a disengagement plan. Every time you reveal another aspect of this delusion, the terrorists remind you how mistaken it is and how it merely encourages them to carry out more attacks."
