The Kinneret (Sea of Galilee) continues to climb, due to runoff from the recent snow and rain in the north. It now stands at 209.5 meters below sea level, with only 70 centimeters (27.6 inches) to go before reaching the newly-adjusted maximum level of 208.8 meters. Kinneret Administration personnel are monitoring the situation, in order to open the Deganiah Dam before the waters begin to flood nearby Tiberias and Ein Gev, but without causing undue water loss. More rain is expected in the north, beginning tonight, and spreading to central Israel tomorrow and Friday.
