Thousands of people attended the funeral yesterday of Ya\'ir Har-Sinai \"www.hebron.org.il/pics/yairfuneral.htm\", brutally killed by Arabs the day before while grazing his sheep.

When participants began shouting and demanding vengeance for the killing, Ya\'ir\'s widow, Dalia, took the microphone and said, \"I understand you and want to shout with you. But Ya\'ir was a man of deeds, not a man of words. He always said, \'nothing can be gained from words, only from deeds.\' If you really want to avenge his death, come here to Susia and help me, help me with the sheep, help me with the land, there is so much to do, you have no idea. That is the real, true vengeance. Now, please let me hear the eulogies, they are very important to me. Let us conclude the funeral.\" There were no further interruptions.

Excerpts from the eulogies: \"Ya\'ir cared most about safeguarding Eretz Yisrael, his children\'s education, and honoring his fellowman... He always said, \'Stop and breathe, fill your lungs with this air.\' Ya\'ir felt a strong connection between breath (neshima in Hebrew), the soul (neshama) and spirit.\"

Unbelievably, this is the same man to whom the Rabbis for Human Rights organization, headed by Reform Rabbi Arik Asherman, refers today as a \"brutal person.\" In its latest campaign on behalf of the population that promotes murder of Yesha Jews, and shelters those who carry out these killings, the organization writes, \"Today a brutal person was brutally murdered... Yair Har Sinai, a settler about whom I have heard Palestinians speak fearfully as long as I have been working for RHR, was found murdered at 3:00 AM...\" A friend of the terror victim recounted yesterday what may be the \"basis\" for such talk: \"As was well-known, Ya\'ir never took a weapon with him while tending his sheep. One time, several Arab shepherds found him and began chasing him. He had nowhere to turn, and it looked like this was the end. Suddenly, he stopped and began reciting Psalms. The would-be murderers were shocked, and began yelling, \"Mazhnun! Crazy man!\" and ran away...\"

The above organization is actually asking that faxes be sent to Prime Minister Sharon (972-2-566-4838) Foreign Minister Peres, Defense Minister Ben-Eliezer, and the Civil Administration (9977018, 9977326) to protest the punitive measures they are enacting upon the population of Yata and neighboring hostile villages which includes the murderers of Dov Dribben, 14-year-olds Kobi Mandell and Yosef Ishran, and now Ya\'ir Har-Sinai. Other organizatios, however, are demanding that the above officials take stronger measures to apprehend and punish the murderers and their accessories, and to ensure the safety of Jews in their land.
