Sussia resident 51-year-old Yair Har-Sinai was a familiar face to all the resident of the Southern Hevron Hills area. His callous skin, dark complexion and simple mannerisms were testimony to the man who loved the land, who earned his livelihood in the biblical profession of a shepherd. This all came to an abrupt end on Monday night when terrorists riddled Har-Sinai’s body with bullets in yet another Islamic terror attack. Har-Sinai was the second Jew murdered over a several hour period. He became the 129th victim of the ongoing PA war that began on September 29, 2000.
On Monday night at about 10:00pm, when Har-Sinai’s flock turned up in Sussia it did not take long for neighbors to realize something was wrong – Yair was no where to be found.
The army was notified, a command post was established, and a search implemented. Later in the night, his lifeless body was recovered. It was too late to do anything for him.
Yair leaves behind his wife and nine children. The funeral procession will begin at the Har-Sinai home in Sussia at 3:00pm and Yair will be interred in the Sussia Cemetery.
In another terrorist attack Monday night, Har Bracha resident Avi Romano remains in moderate-to-serious condition in Tel Aviv’s Tel HaShomer Hospital. He was shot about 100 meters (yards) from the entrance to the community on his way home at about 10:30pm.
