The Israel Police have recommended to the Jerusalem District Prosecutor’s Office that criminal charges should be filed against Arab MK Azmi Bishara for his statements during a Syrian state memorial ceremony last month. Police have suggested that the MK be charged with incitement, cooperating with an enemy nation, furnishing information to a hostile nation and other related charges. Bishara rejected the recommendation, saying that he has made the same statements many times in the past and that the investigation against him is politically motivated.
