The Knesset has a busy day today, what with three no-confidence motions, a visit by the Australian Foreign Minister, and several important issues being debated in committee.



In addition, the Knesset Committee discussed Israel's relations with Syria and Lebanon, at the prompting of MKs Gila Finkelstein and Aryeh Eldad. In the main Knesset session, beginning at 4 PM this afternoon, the opposition parties will introduce three no-confidence motions against the government, because of the indictment of David Appel and its ramifications regarding the functioning of Ariel Sharon.



The Knesset Science and Technology Committee today marked the first anniversary of the Columbia space shuttle disaster, in which Israeli astronaut Ilan Ramon lost his life. The session also focused on the significance of the disaster for the future of civilian space exploration. Attending the session were Minister of Science and Technology Eliezer Zandberg, Avi Har-Even, the head of Israel's space agency, the Ramon family, and others.
