New proposed legislation would add home-care to the list of preferential jobs with government benefits offered to newly released IDF soldiers. Labor MK Orit Noked, on behalf of the Knesset Labor and Welfare Committee, proposed the bill, which would designate a 7,000-shekel grant to every soldier who takes one of these "preferential" jobs. Other such employment in this category includes work in agriculture, school protection, hotels, and construction.

The home-care jobs in the new legislation pertain to care proffered to the elderly, those who are physically handicapped or restricted, retarded, drug addicts, and the like.
