The father of the family sustained moderate injuries from shattered glass and shrapnel, while his wife escaped with light injuries. Their child was physically unharmed. There was heavy damage to their home from the mortar attack.



The Gush Katif town of N’vei Dekalim was also the target of repeated mortar shelling by Arab terrorists earlier in the evening yesterday. PA attackers launched rockets at an IDF position protecting the town of Gadid, as well. There were no injuries in those attacks.



At least one Kassam rocket fired last night from the PA also struck the southern city of S’derot, inside Israel’s pre-1967 borders. There were no injuries in the attack, but a vehicle was damaged.



Since Rosh Hashanah, September 27, 2003, 391 rockets were launched against civilian and military targets in Gaza. Gaza Regional Council officials report that a total of 3,719 rockets have been fired in attacks throughout Gaza during the Oslo War.



In other news from the counterterrorism front, the IDF today completed an operation in Rafiach, condemned by United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan on Tuesday, aimed at locating and destroying arms smuggling tunnels. The IDF spokesman told Arutz-7’s Tamar Leshem that during the overnight operation a large number of explosives and bombs were directed at the soldiers, as well as tens of hand-grenades. Four terrorists who had planted the bombs were killed, along with one other armed terrorist.



An IDF soldier was lightly wounded last night by enemy gunfire during IDF operations in Tul Karem, while soldiers operating in Shechem successfully apprehended a PFLP terrorist. Also last night, a vehicle was targeted in a firebomb attack near the Shomron community of Kedumim. There were no injuries in that incident.
