Who\'s Coming To Israel

Correspondent Haggai Huberman notes that in light of the abbreviated version of the Maccabiah Games to be held this summer, it would be worthwhile to remember the Second Maccabiah games of April 1935. Writing in HaTzofeh, Huberman recalls, \"It was the period of British quotas on immigration to Eretz Yisrael. From among the tens of thousands of Jewish athletes who came from 27 countries to participate in the games, some 7,000 decided to remain here, despite the British orders. The Bulgarian delegation, for instance, sent back only the musical instruments they had brought with them...\"



The Rambam Mesivta in Lawrence, New York, will be sending 29 of its 33 graduates to learn in Israeli yeshivot this coming August; some 25 of last year\'s graduates plan to return for a second year.



22 members of the graduating class of the Community Hebrew Academy of Toronto (CHAT) will be going to yeshivot/midrashot/schools/national service in Israel this coming year.



WITS (Wisconsin Institute for Torah Study) in Milwaukee will see 19 of its 23 high school graduates learn in Israel this coming year.



The Youth Movement of Young Judaea, sponsored by Hadassah, is sending 120 youths on its 5.5-week Machon touring trip in Israel this summer.
