Former Chief Rabbi Mordechai Eliyahu will arrive tomorrow in Migron, the 42-family "outpost" threatened with imminent destruction by the government. He has made clear that if a community or an outpost that has been approved by a government level is dismantled, the nationalist camp parties must quit the government.
Rabbi Eliyahu issued a Chanukah-related call: "Whoever is for G-d, rally around me!" He said that this was the call of the Maccabees over 2,000 years ago prior to their victories over the Syrian-Greeks - victories that guaranteed the Jewish people's spiritual and national freedom and which will be commemorated next week during the holiday of Chanukah.
Rabbi Eliyahu stated:
"I am aware that the communities and outposts in Judea and Samaria were established with the approval or knowledge of the Israeli Government. The demolition of a community or the evacuation of an outpost are not an expression of sovereignty, but just the opposite: this is a surrender to foreign dictates."
"I call upon the entire public and my students: Whoever is for G-d, rally around me! - just as the Hasmoneans called at this time long ago. Come with me, by car or by foot, to every Jewish town that is threatened with dismantling, to hear a Torah lecture on the topic of 'settling the Land of Israel.' I will give the class every three hours, starting from the time that word becomes known of the intention to destroy the community - which I hope will not occur."
