President Moshe Katzav and his wife Gila departed last night for a state visit to China. This is the first visit of a senior Israeli official to China in five years. Katzav was invited by his Chinese counterpart Hu Jintao for a weeklong visit. Economic contracts between the two countries worth over $100 million will be signed in Katzav's presence.
