Author Chaim Walder received the Magen HaYeled (Child Protector) Prize in the Knesset yesterday. Participating in the ceremony were Knesset Speaker Ruby Rivlin, Children's Rights Knesset Committee Chairman Michael Melchior, other government officials, and representatives of the National Council for Child Welfare. Walder has written many successful books for hareidi children and young adults, including the very popular series "Children Speak About Themselves." This series, which has been translated into a number of languages, deals with common problems faced by children in the hareidi sector.
