Police and army forces are on high alert in the north today, after having received "hot" warnings of terrorist intentions to cross the Green Line and perpetrate attacks in pre-1967 Israel. Arutz-7's Kobi Finkler reports that many warnings were received for northern Israel as early as yesterday, "but we were asked not to publicize this. Today, however, the warnings took on added urgency, and the police took some strong action. Highway 60 was closed for 90 minutes near Megiddo, and then shortly afterwards another warning came; both involved terrorists coming from northern Shomron, but the second one indicated an attack in the Beit She'an area [south of the Kinneret Sea]. There are now lots of checkpoints east of Afula and near Beit She'an."
Finkler noted that the presence of the partition wall in the Wadi Ara area [near Megiddo] is clearly not sufficient. He said that this is largely because of the increasing involvement of Israeli-Arabs in anti-Israel terrorism. "In fact, it was just released for publication a few minutes ago [shortly before 1 PM] that a 17-year-old from the Israeli-Arab city of Taibe was indicted today on five counts of making contact with enemy and other terrorism charges."
The "New Momentum" anti-terror operation in Ramallah of Monday was more successful than originally thought. Under the ruins of a five-story building blown up by the Israeli forces for housing an explosives lab was found the body of Ibrahim Hamed, head of the Hamas terrorists in the city. So reported PA sources, while Israeli sources had no comment. Hamed was the main target of the offensive.
