A special workshop for treating terror victims who suffer from tinnitus, or ringing in the ears, opened last week in the Bnei Tzion Medical Center in Haifa. Tinnitus, which has no efficient cure, is generally brought on by the sound of large explosions such as those heard in terrorist attacks. The workshop, given in the hospital's neuro-physiological department, will run for eight sessions. "The participants will get to know techniques that will provide them with a new approach," said Dr. Yaakov Ben-David, who is running the workshop, "and they will become accustomed to methods of relaxation, guided imagination, and directed thought." Spouses of the afflicted persons took part in the first session, in order to help them understand the difficulties their partners are going through.
