New regulations in Netzarim: IDF soldiers are instructed to "shoot to kill" any Arab detected spying on Israeli forces with binoculars. The new orders are a follow-up to the murderous attack 12 days ago in which terrorists gunned down three soldiers - two of them while they were sleeping - in Netzarim. The investigation shows that the terrorists reconnoitered the area for a long while before the attack. Two days afterwards, the army blew up three unoccupied 13-story buildings that were used solely for spying on Netzarim.
The IDF has decided, in accordance with its latest evaluation of the situation, to remove the encirclement from around the PA-controlled cities, except for Shechem and Jenin. The measures were put in place following the recent terrorist attacks.
The Yesha Rabbis Council has sharply rebuked those responsible for cutting down Arab-owned olive trees near Jewish communities. Rabbi Daniel Shilo, speaking for the Council, said that individual acts of vengeance are forbidden and to be condemned. Residents of Yitzhar, near where several dozen olive trees were found to have been cut down this week, say that terrorists have disguised themselves as "olive harvesters" in the past.
