Prime Minister Sharon landed in Russia this morning, beginning a three-day official visit during which he will meet privately with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Topping the agenda for the two leaders will be the growing threat of Iran's nuclear program. Sharon will tell Putin that Iran is a terrorist-backing country that could ultimately threaten Russia. Sharon will also explain Israel's objections to Russia's support for the immediate implementation of the Road Map between Israel and the PA.

Transportation Minister Avigdor Lieberman and Absorption Minister Tzippy Livny are accompanying Sharon to Russia. This is the Prime Minister's third trip to Russia.
