Some 3.7 million voters are eligible to take part in the municipal elections in 156 Israeli cities and localities two days from now. They will choose from among 600 mayoral candidates, including 200 women.

The Likud, which is not expecting great success in the coming elections, notes that it is competing in 117 localities, while the Labor party is fielding mayoral candidates in less than 50. As opposed to the two previous municipal elections, in which voter participation hovered around the 40% mark, no less than 57% of respondents told Dachaf pollsters that they definitely plan to vote.
