IDF soldiers carried out a daring two-pronged operation in two Palestinian Authority hospitals yesterday, arresting two wanted terrorists. Troops dressed in civilian clothes and accompanied by dogs began the operation before dawn yesterday morning. They found Halad Abu Hamad, a Hamas murderer, in an intensive care unit of the Anglican Hospital, recovering from wounds he sustained last week when a bomb he was transporting blew up in his vehicle. He is responsible for the murders of five Israelis in attacks in the Ariel area of the Shomron. Around the same time, Taak Hamdan of the Al-Aqsa Brigades was apprehended in the Rafidiya Hospital. He was armed with a pistol when soldiers took him into custody.

The IDF is continuing to investigate the fatal attack on Netzarim last week, in which three soldiers - two females and one male - were killed. IDF Southern Commander Brig.-Gen. Gadi Shamni said that it is clearly intolerable for a terrorist to crawl undetected, even in conditions of heavy fog, into an IDF outpost. Other unexplained issues include the lack of an electronic fence circling the entire base, the unlocked doors on the soldiers' caravans, and the lack of weapons for two of the soldiers who were killed.

One of the three victims of Friday's attack, Sgt. Adi Osman, 19, of Kfar Saba, was buried on Friday afternoon. The other two were laid to rest today: Sgt. Sarit Schneur, 19, from Shoham, in the military section of the Ramle cemetery, and Sgt.-Maj. Alon Avrahami, 20, of Or Yehuda, in his hometown. The family of Segal Boim, who was seriously wounded in the attack, has asked for prayers for her: Segal bat [daughter of] Eva. She was transferred to Tel HaShomer in Tel Aviv from Ashkelon's Barzilai Hospital, and was operated on for several hours.

Several more Arab-fired mortar shells at N'vei Dekalim, Gadid, and elsewhere last night and today brought the total number of rockets fired from Gaza in the course of the past month to no fewer than 88. One Kassam rocket, fired at a Kibbutz in the western Negev before noon today, landed in an open field without causing damage. Near Kfar Darom yesterday, soldiers found and blew up a bag containing eight hand grenades and a cellular phone.

Several Arab shooting incidents were recorded last night as well. Near Hevron, a Palestinian terrorist yelling the traditional Arab war cry of "Alahu Akbar" ran towards soldiers, and was shot and lightly wounded in the leg. No Israelis were hurt, and the terrorist was found to be carrying two knives.
