The six Jewish security prisoners incarcerated in the Ayalon Prison are on strike in protest of the conditions in which Noam Federman is being held. Hevron-resident Federman is in prison under a six-month administrative detention order signed by Defense Minister Sha'ul Mofaz. He is being held in the Ashmoret Prison, where Arab terrorists are also imprisoned. Prison officials that Federman need not take seriously their constant threats to murder him, as he is being held in a separate cell and does not see them.

The six prisoners in Ayalon refused to come out for morning roll call today, until they were forced to do so by the arrival of several guards. Federman himself is on a hunger strike. He has been indicted dozens of times on various charges of anti-Arab activities, has rarely been convicted.
