A new yeshiva [Torah academy] was dedicated this week in Telem, to the west of the Gush Etzion-Hevron highway, in memory of fallen IDF Col. Dror Weinberg. The yeshiva, named Netivot Dror, eternalizes the much-admired army officer who was one of 12 victims of a terrorist ambush attack between Hevron and Kiryat Arba almost a year ago. IDF Central Region Commander Maj.-Gen. Moshe Kaplinsky spoke of Col. Weinberg's unique integration of true Torah qualities and military professionalism. The Rosh Yeshiva (Dean) of the new institution will be Rabbi Avi Cohen-Ohr.

Telem was left with only 8 families at the end of last year, but 13 new families from Yeshivat Shavei Hevron in Hevron, headed by Rabbi Moshe Bleicher, have now moved to the community.
