Fifteen terrorist suspects from Judea and Samaria have been issued military orders "relocating" them to Gaza, for a period of two years.
The IDF does not wish to put the 15 on trial, in order not to divulge its intelligence sources, but wants to ensure that they do not return to their terrorist activities. Military sources acknowledged that the deportees might try to become involved in local terrorist networks in Gaza, but said that the risk was deemed worthwhile.
The terrorists, who have been imprisoned in Megiddo, Ketziot, and Ofer, have 48 hours in which to appeal the decision. The Supreme Court has approved such deportation orders in the past, but only when direct terrorist involvement has been proven. Judicial experts said that the government might in fact have trouble defending the current decision, in light of strict international law on the matter of deportation and relocation.
