Arutz-7's Kobi Finkler reports that the Iranian-supported camp provides advanced training to terrorists, who then return to the PA areas to establish terrorist infrastructures. The Israeli attack, in which one Syrian was reported injured, was the first one deep in Syrian territory in many years.

Israeli spokesmen say that no individual aspect of Israel's response contains the key to ending terrorism, but that the comprehensive picture - including the choice of targets and the speed with which the counter-attack was executed - sends a strong signal to the terrorism-sponsoring entities. The Islamic Jihad, which carried out yesterday's massacre in Haifa, "enjoys the support and sponsorship of various countries in the region, especially Iran and Syria," according to an IDF statement.

"This is a clear signal to the Damascus-Teheran-Gaza axis of terror," said Prime Minister Sharon's spokesman Raanan Gissin on CNN today. He did not answer when asked if Israel plans to attack Iran as well.

Arabs fired mortar shells at the Jewish community of Morag in Gush Katif, Gaza, this morning; no one was hurt.

Once again, security is at its zenith throughout Israel for the Yom Kippur holiday, which begins tonight. Two guards will be stationed in many synagogues, and the police have requested that every synagogue be staffed by at least one person with a weapon. Protection will similarly be very tight in other places where many people are expected to gather, including the Western Wall. A complete closure was imposed on the Arab areas of Judea, Samaria and Gaza on Friday.
