The unheralded war in Gush Katif continues. Border Guard sappers worked for several hours yesterday and last night to neutralize a large 40-kg. bomb planted by terrorists near the road leading to the Jewish community of Morag. This morning the story repeated itself - twice - when sappers had to work to dismantle two bombs. Packing a total of 90 kilograms of explosives, the two bombs were found near the Kisufim crossing - the entrance to the Katif bloc of Jewish communities. The bombs were set to be detonated by cellular phone.

Sources in Katif say that the dry nature of press reports stating, "Sappers dismantled a bomb this afternoon," is not an accurate reflection of the truth. In actuality, the soldiers often spend hours at hard and dangerous work neutralizing explosives that could detonate in their hands at any moment.

This morning, IDF soldiers near Morag identified at least two armed terrorists approaching their tank, and shot at them. One or two of the terrorists were killed, and at least one more escaped... Five mortar shells were fired at IDF positions in Gaza during the night; no one was hurt... A terrorist dressed as a woman was apprehended in Kalkilye, east of Raanana, this afternoon.
