Noam Federman of Hevron, known in the media as a "right-wing activist," was handed an arrest warrant this morning placing him under administrative detention for three months. Kol Rina News Agency reports that Federman has been under house arrest for the past year, and was actually in the midst of petitioning the Supreme Court against the continuation of that situation when the new warrant was served him in the Supreme Court building. He was taken to the Ashmoret Prison. Federman's friends said afterwards that this was an example of how the Shabak (General Security Service) bypasses the Supreme Court.

Elisheva Federman, Noam's wife, told Arutz-7 today that her husband has continually proven his innocence even though he has been repeatedly charged with various crimes, "and this is therefore the GSS' only way of getting him." She said that her husband, who has defended himself successfully over 20 times, is likely to appeal this order as well. The order was signed by Defense Minister Sha'ul Mofaz.
