Tensions continue between Hamas and PA police in Gaza this morning, following last night's clash. It began when Hamas abducted a PA man, continued when the PA arrested seven Hamas agents, and flared up with the wounding of several on both sides.



Close to 100 people demonstrated in the town of Efrat this morning, just south of Jerusalem, in protest of the release of an Arab terrorist who nearly perpetrated a stabbing attack there last week. Efrat's Chief Rabbi Shlomo Riskin said he would sever his cordial relations with the Arab village of Wadi Nis, where the terrorist lives, if the latter is not either incarcerated or institutionalized. He and Mayor Eitan Golan said that they would wait a few days to see if their requests to the authorities bring results. Among the protestors were parents of students at the Orot Yehuda high school, behind which the terrorist was hiding with a knife and a suicide letter when he was caught. The army explained that the Arab is mentally unstable.



Palestinian terrorists shot at an Israeli car on the Alon Highway near the village of Mugheir this morning. No one was hurt in today's attack, but in the same area three weeks ago, 25-year-old Shalom Har-Melekh of Chomesh was shot and murdered as he drove with his wife.



Last night, two volleys totaling five mortar shells were fired at N'vei Dekalim in Gush Katif. The last two shells were fired as security forces were searching for the landing-sites of the first three. No one was hurt, and IDF soldiers returned fire... Arab-planted bombs exploded alongside IDF vehicles in Gaza and Jenin last night, hurting no one...
