Palestinian mis-information filtering down to the world media again outpaced the efforts to disseminate the accurate facts. It was briefly reported last night that the shooting death of a 12-year-old Palestinian boy was caused by Israeli soldiers\' gunfire. Shortly afterwards, however, Voice of Israel radio reported, based on Palestinian sources, that the lad had in fact by shots fired by Palestinians. Some reports said that armed Palestinians in a car opened fire at an Israeli army checkpoint west of Rafiach town, and that a second vehicle, containing local residents, passed into the line of fire. The corrected reports were reported only much later on several world media organs, if at all.
