The police are on high alert for possible terrorist attacks in response to yesterday's IAF attack in Gaza, and a closure has been imposed on the PA-controlled areas. The security forces say they have some three dozen warnings of imminent attacks - the same number as yesterday morning, before the IDF attack.

Many checkpoints have been erected along the Green Line (separating the pre-and-post 1967 areas of Israel), as well as at entrances to major cities. Arabs from the PA may not cross the Green Line, but are traveling freely within the PA. Protection is beefed up near schools and shopping centers. Police officers who are usually on office duty have also joined the in-the-field forces.

The Australian government has warned its Jewish community – 100,000-strong –that terrorist elements may be targeting it.
