At exactly 5 pm, the organization\'s members observed one minute of silence in memory of each of the 62 civilian victims of Arab terrorist attacks since the start of the PLO mini-war last fall. Organizers hope that their protest will succeed in closing down ten major intersections for a total of 62 minutes.

This in turn, I hope will lead to the government abandoning its restraint policy and begin fulfilling its promises of restoring peace and security to Israel.\" Although today\'s grassroots effort is a peaceful demonstration, witnesses at one intersection report hearing a police commander instructing his officers to use physical force to scatter the demonstrators.
