As funerals and mourning for 20 victims of Palestinian terrorism continued, a large police force raided the Shomron community of Kfar Tapuach last night, entering homes without search warrants in pursuit of one resident. They even attempted to enter the Kahane family home, where live six orphans with their aunt and uncle - but the neighbors prevented them from doing so.

David Ha'Ivri, resident of Kfar Tapuach, told Arutz-7 this morning what happened:

"Yesterday afternoon and evening, a large force of about 20 policemen was here, going house to house looking for suspects. We have experienced this type of police harassment in the past, but this time it was worse - they burst into houses without warrants, looking for one specific person; they acted as if they were looking for a terrorist. They had a warrant to search one specific house only... Around 10PM, after they finished the hilltop, they decided that they wanted to go into the Kahane children's home, without a warrant..."

It should be noted that the six children were orphaned when their parents, Rabbi Binyamin Ze'ev and Talia Kahane, were murdered in a terrorist shooting attack in the Shomron over two and a half years ago. Their mother's sister, her husband and their three children have moved in to the Kahane house to live with the children.

Ha'Ivri continued, "We and other residents refused to allow the police to enter. We told them that the children should not be disturbed after all they went through, and that no one was hiding there. So they tried something new: A plainclothesman said that he was an Army Police investigator, claiming that this gives him the right to go into any house in Israel without a warrant. I called a lawyer, who said that there is no such thing, and we did not let them in."
