Several terrorist attacks occurred this morning and afternoon. A 21-year-old woman, Shlomit Binyamin, suffered moderate-to-serious wounds when she was shot while standing outside the entrance to Ofrah this morning; the shots were fired from a nearby Arab house, and some residents expressed the desire to take over the building. After the first round of fire, in which a bullet grazed her neck, she tried to run away, at which point another round was fired, hitting her more seriously in the leg. After being treated in a Jerusalem hospital, her condition quickly improved and she was released to her home later in the day. In addition, shots were fired at an Israeli car on the southern-Shechem bypass road; no one was hurt. A third attack was perpetrated when terrorists waiting in ambush fired at a resident of Chomesh, in central Shomron; he was not hurt.
Roman Zoritsky, a 41-year-old resident of Petach Tikvah, was shot and wounded early this afternoon while working on the Trans-Israel Highway. The gunshots were fired from the nearby PA area of Tul Karem. Zoritsky was transported to Meir Hospital in Kfar Saba and is reported to be in light-to-moderate condition. Later, Palestinian gunmen fired at the Border Guard base near Tul Karem, and at soldiers combing the area near Ofrah; no injuries were reported.
