Several Cabinet ministers are quite upset with Sharon's decision not to discuss the upcoming withdrawal from four PA cities. Minister Uzi Landau of the Likud, for example, said today that such one-sided concessions "endanger the personal security of Israeli citizens. It's impossible to grasp how a withdrawal like this can be done before the Palestinians have made even one step to dismantle the terrorist organizations."

Education Minister Limor Livnat, also of the Likud, said today that she was "astonished" to hear from the media that Israel is continuing to make gestures towards the Palestinian Authority even before the PA has started to fight terrorism and while Jews are being murdered. She said that the matter must be discussed in the full Cabinet, or at least in the security mini-cabinet.

Agriculture Minister Yisrael Katz (Likud) and Housing Minister Effie Eitam (National Religious Party) similarly announced their objections. National Union party whip MK Yuri Stern informed PM Sharon last night that a decision of this nature must receive government approval.

The Yesha Council released the following announcement:

"A government that is willing to give over four more Yesha cities to the terrorist regime of Abu Mazen and Dahlan is a government that gambles with the lives of its citizens. It decisions have thus lost their ethical validity. The government must wake up and extricate itself from the murderous trap of the imaginary cease-fire."
