Shortly after midnight (Thursday), approximately fifty police officers burst into the Tur home in Hevron’s Avraham Avinu neighborhood and took 23-year-old Sela Tur into custody. After being taken to a waiting police van, Tur was reportedly driven towards Jerusalem accompanied by police and intelligence officers.

In nearby Kiryat Arba, according to residents, another person was simultaneously arrested in a police raid in an apartment building. The identity of the other Hevron-area suspect taken into custody is unknown at this time.

The arrests are assumed by many residents to be connected with an ongoing investigation of alleged “security crimes” committed by Jewish residents of Judea and Samaria. Last month, police took Yitzhak Pass and Mati Shvo into custody for such alleged - and unspecified - “security violations”.
