Express electric train service from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem is planned. Transportation Minister Ephraim Sneh announced today that a new 56-kilometer route will be paved via Modiin and Ben Gurion International Airport, at a cost of 2.5 billion shekels (roughly $600 million). Israel and Bulgaria signed last week a free trade agreement according to which quotas in effect on trade between the two countries will be gradually phased out by the year 2004. Bulgaria will enjoy tariff reductions on its agricultural exports to Israel, while Israel will benefit on its exports of animals, flowers, and more.
