Housing Minister Effie Eitam (National Religious Party) was appointed today by Prime Minister Ariel Sharon to head a new ministerial committee for the development of the Galilee and Negev. Infrastructures Minister Yosef Paritzky (Shinui) had wished to be appointed instead, and Interior Minister Avraham Poraz, also of Shinui, said he had personal objections to Eitam's appointment.
