Today (Sunday), the second-seeded Israeli tennis star beat Jelena Kostanic of Croatia (4-6, 6-4, 6-0) to win the championship at the Nordea Nordic Light Open in Helsinki, Finland.
And it was Pistolesi’s second championship win in as many weeks. Last week, in Sopot, Poland, she took the top prize in the clay-court event at the Idea Prokom Open.
Pistolesi, 27, of Herzliya, is ranked 25th in the world. She turned professional in 1991.
