Palestinian terrorists in Gaza fired a new missile at the community of Morag last night, in southern Gush Katif, causing injuries. The rocket, named Al-Batar, is a new product of weapons factories in the Palestinian Authority, and has a range of three kilometers. Six Israelis went into shock when it was fired at them last night, and their hearing was slightly affected as well. The missile exploded near a home in Morag, causing damage to nearby parked cars and shattering windows in adjacent homes.
Chaim, deputy security chief in Morag, told Arutz-7 today, "Unfortunately, we are quite used to this scenario of a couple of hours of shooting and drama, and then quiet. This time, the wounds were a bit worse than usual... What is very worrisome is the IDF's reaction to the attacks that occur. For instance on Friday, two shots were fired at an IDF jeep, but the army was not allowed to respond. A week and a half ago, an Arab approached our community, and was practically at the entrance - but the soldiers were not allowed to shoot, even in the air, and had to arrest him using their bare hands. A week before, something similar happened. This is very uncomfortable, to say the least. It appears that we're trying to maintain the hudna even more than they are."
In other war news, an Arab resident of the PA clubbed two Jerusalem policewomen this afternoon, after one of them stopped him for jaywalking. The Arab had run across a street at Tzahal Square - at the Old City end of Jaffa Rd. - against a red traffic signal. When asked to present identification by a policewoman, he brandished a club, shouted Alahu Akbar, and clubbed the police officer. A second policewoman ran to her aid and was injured herself. Other police officers arrived on the scene and arrested the attacker. The injured officers were taken to a hospital for treatment.
IDF soldiers arrested two wanted terrorist suspects last night in the Bethlehem area... PA sources in Jenin say that two Fatah terrorists evaded a "targeted killing" attempt. They say that Israeli forces ambushed the two in eastern Jenin, but managed only to wound them lightly-to-moderately. Israel has not yet responded to the reports...
