An RPG mortar shell was fired and exploded in the large Gush Katif community of N'vei Dekalim this afternoon. No one was hurt, but homes and cars were damaged. A Gush Katif spokesman said that this was the Palestinians' response to the release of the terrorists.



An undercover Border Guard unit recaptured an Arab terrorist leader this morning who escaped from Israeli prison three months ago. Two other fellow escapees are still at large. Mahmoud Alawada, a senior Islamic Jihad terrorist, was captured in the area of Jenin.



Palestinian gunmen opened fire at an IDF position near Shechem last night. No one was hurt, and IDF soldiers returned fire.
