The Gaza Coast Regional Council will grant honorary citizenship to Jonathan Pollard in a special ceremony in honor of his 49th birthday this week. His wife Esther will be in attendance, and the hope is that other local councils will take a similar step on behalf of Mr. Pollard. He has been in U.S. prison for almost 18 years...



Israel, like the U.S. before it, now has newer and more stringent aviation guidelines. As of Oct. 31, any plane flying into, out of, or over Israel must have a bulletproof door leading to the cockpit. The decision is designed to protect the crew - and the passengers - from terror attacks such as those that succeeded, to varying extents, on Sept. 11, 2001. The new regulation was signed today by Transportation Minister Avigdor Lieberman. Similar regulations will go into effect at the same time in the United States...
