Gratification in the Border Guard police. A weekend operation turned up no fewer than 2,670 P.A. Arabs who were staying and/or working in pre-1967 Israel illegally. They were checked and returned to their homes. In addition, 63 Israelis were caught driving, employing, or giving shelter to the illegal migrants. They were questioned, and warned, and in some cases indicted. 33 Israeli cars used for smuggling the Arabs were taken off the roads for a month. Five stolen cars were found, two car thieves were caught - and 12 PA Arabs wanted by the security forces were also apprehended.
