Authorities are continuing the search for missing IDF soldier Oleg (ben Olga) Shchait, who disappeared in the Galilee region on Monday while on his way home to Nazareth Illit from a military base. Oleg, 20, phoned home to say he was on his way home - and was not heard from since. He was last seen in a car at the Amiad Junction, north of the Kinneret Sea. Family members and police increasingly believe he was abducted. IDF officials acknowledge that Oleg, who has an administrative position in the IDF, is a model soldier and has not exhibited any problems during his service.

The search, which began on Tuesday, had been concentrated on the Golani and Beit Rimon Junctions in the Galilee, not far from his hometown of Nazareth Illit. It has now spread throughout the country, however. A special investigative team has been appointed to the case.
