A soldier has been missing since Monday, and it is feared that he was abducted by Palestinian terrorists.
Oleg Shaichat of Nazareth Illit is 20 years old, and was last heard from and seen at the Amiad Junction near Kiryat Shmonah. He called his parents from Amiad on Monday afternoon to say that he was on his way home - and there the trail goes cold. Considered a model soldier and very disciplined, no personal crisis is suspected - leaving his older brother Adam to explain that terrorism is the only thing they can think of. "He just disappeared, and no other explanation seems feasible," he said. Hundreds of police officers, Border Guardsmen and volunteers, using helicopters, horses and off-road vehicles, have launched a massive manhunt for Oleg.
